The roads in South West Lombok are well maintained, and the scenic drive from Mataram or Lembar is fairly relaxing. The transport price depend on your talent in bargaining and therefore can vary quite a bit. If you calculate around USD 15 you should be able to find a car and driver without to much problem. In any case, make sure you arrange the price before the journey starts.

Until recently, due to its challenging reef breaks at Bangko Bangko and Dessert Point, South West Lombok was only known amongst surfers. Now this paradise has also been discovered by Scuba Enthusiasts and vacationers searching for white beaches and relaxation.

But not only travelers have found a new interest in South Lombok. Also now hotels and other tourist oriented businesses are slowly developing in the south of Lombok. For example the 5 star resort “Sundancer” is due to open in 2007.

A scenically spectacular highway follows the inside coast of the foot like southwest peninsula of Lombok. This road skirts beaches of the whitest sand. Bays of tourquoise water and small islands characterise the offshore panoramas.

The road to the Bangko-Bangko area tha includes world famous Desert Point surf location considered by many to be the best left breaking wave in Indonesia. Also go for hikes on the headland and explore the caves and huge canons alegacy of the Japanese occupation

Sekotong is a new destination in Lombok, The beaches in this are is spectacular and very quite, Sekotong is yet develop are in Lombok but in several year more as Sundancer Resort operate, Sekotong become the next Senggigi in Lombok.

If you interest to visit the GILIS in southwest lombok,You will pass Sekotong area, Gili Islands next to Sekotong is popular among divers as the reefs in this are is much...much... better then in Gili Islands in the North side of Lombok.

GILI NANGGU BUNGALOWS

Bungalows Overview

A small and comfortable resort at the south Tipp of Gili Nanggu. The bungalows are furnished with single- as well as twin beds. All are furnished with a generous bathroom, fan and a furnished porch with hammock. The garden full of trees and bushes invites you to stay and relax. The beach is 30m from your front door and welcomes you for swimming, snorkeling or a cool drink in the evening. 10 minute transport to the dive shop per boat.

This is the only place on the island. There are 10 cottages and maybe 6 or so bungalows. The cottages, which are less expensive than the bungalows, are very close to the shore where the boats arrive, and they are basic, quaint, and clean. New sheets and towels. There’s no fresh water so you’ll be washing with salty, minerally water…you should bring a lot of fresh water (which we bought in Lembar) for drinking and teeth-brushing. The bungalows are bigger, have A/C, and “fresh water,” but they’re a little bit far from the nice shore where everyone swims and snorkels. They do face a shore of their own but it’s less groomed and no one actually swims there. The bungalows are more private, I suppose, for that reason, and because people tend to stay in the less expensive cottages so many of the bungalows are vacant (or were when we were there, anyway). But I found them to be not as nice as the cottages.

Inside the bungalow you will find a cabinet, cupboard and of a course a comfortable bed. The bungalows are constructed in the traditional Lombok style, Sasak, but modern and comfortable, in a basic chique.

Furthermore there is a fifth one-storey residence with two bedrooms upstairs and a large veranda as well. Both rooms have toilet and shower. The ground floor has a large open living room with an cosy restaurant, a great place to enjoy company, meals and drinks. Here you will also find the library and a room for massage and special bath treatments.

On the beach a number of comfortable deck chairs are available for those who fully intend to enjoy sun, sea and sand.

Meditation and yoga may be practiced on the large beruga (open covered space on poles) at the near by hill.

Location Overview

The beautiful and undisturbed nature, crystal clear water, easy access to other diving and surfing spots and the local myth make this resort island worth visiting.

Gili Gede - is the largest adjacent island of Lombok Island. It has somehow been forgotten by so many; even local residents often do not know where it is. Yet it has a history of activity & ancient History from at least the 13th century. It protects a large further inside bay that many Sailors of Today are not aware of for two reasons. 1) That it looks like a point of land when sailing by and 2) The nautical charts mark the entrance full of obstructions, which is unfair as these are only "Pearl Buoys" and easily navigable, especially in the Day time.

The Inside bay with its green clear water surroundings beach, "It just hasn't been Explored that much." There is a non volcanic evergreen mountain Gazebo that rests in the center of the island, a perfect place to stop for a rest on a hour Nature Walk. Enjoying both sunset and sunrise from the many beaches is one of the most romantic moments you could have.

There is also a wonderful Nature walk and special Pirates Treasure Chest Hot Tub, that are all part of the Spa facilities available now. The Sauna & Salt Water Pool are under development. Plus there are 4 special On top of the Reef Bungalows being build. All are planned to be ready in the later part of 2006.

The Snorkeling Kayaking and Night Fishing aboard the 6 meter winged Run About"Spie Bird" are excellent. , There is a new sailing speed Kayak, 4 double Kayaks and assorted snorkeling gear. Dive excursions are available from a near by Dive shop. Plus the Nature Walk, Shell beach combing, "Escapee Oyster" picking and Croquet game around the interior grounds of the Resort.

BOLA BOLA PARADISE

Hotel Overview

Bola Bola Paradis is a cozy hotel situated in a tropical garden directly on the sea with a white sandy beach and a coral reef next door. With only 11 guestrooms a guarantee for personal care and attention.

3 rooms are situated in the central half-open house and 8 rooms are located in two big round bungalows. All of them have a paved balcony and a sea view. The buildings are built by hand and in traditional style, with thatched roofs, fully in harmony with the surroundings. A paradise for sun-worshippers, rest-seekers and surfers.

NIRWANA FLOATING VILLAS

Villa Overview

Floating Villa Laut is located about 200meters off the beach, each floating villa is anchored by 4independent anchors : 2 on the front and another 2 at the back of the floating villa. The villa will definitely move following the rhythm of the wave and wind, you may hear the sound of the wood friction, which is normal and completely safe. Under certain circumstances of the season ( usually between February up to early March ) the wind is pretty strong, therefore, the floating villas will be pulled back to the shore and anchored approximately 50meters off the beach and during low tide the villa will be standing firmly on the sea sand.

The fresh water is supplied from the beach by your villa attendant and it may not really be fresh, since we take it from the local well nearby the beach.

Electricity is 220voltage and the power is enough for the lights and other equipments of the floating villa, however, in some occasion the electricity may drop or temporarily be off. In such case, the power will be generated from the independent generator.

In certain occasion, there may be some mosquitoes in the villa neighborhood, therefore, bring some mosquitoes repellent would be good. The case of Malaria is now rarely found in Lombok, however, it is good also to bring some anti malaria pills with you.

Bring along with you the sun cream / sun block, your sun glasses and snorkeling equipment although available in the villas, but, they may not fit you, therefore, if you have one, please bring it with you.

At the moment, we are operating 2unit of floating villa with limited F&B service, your villa attendant will be more than happy to help you providing your lunch or dinner, you can even do it yourself for barbeque sea food, it is one of the interesting attraction that you can do.
